Hi troops,

Do you thing that it's normal that my board wear pretty fast ?
Here some photo, I bought it the 24/05/2014 and only rode it twice, I have some water trapped inside the tips and the bottom sheet doesn't look bomb proof at all...

I send an email to slingshot and I hope that they will solve my problem... If they don't do anything, do you thing that theses defects will affect my board and will end to breaking ?

My dub doesnt have a slider base, and it still looks brand new after 2 sessions riding up the beach and stuff. This is far more of an issue than just no slider base, they should definitely warranty that if it really has only been 2 sessions

I spoke to a slingshot rep about the vision, he said he rode the board in shallow water twice and the heel side rail had worn out. I was looking to get one and I was really surprised buy his honesty. He went on to say that slingshot board construction was very poor and that if I were to take it on the rails it would fall apart. Really glad I spoke to him as a shop had told me that it did in fact have a slider base.

In fact my board didn't hit any obstacles... No slider, no kicker, only rode it twice at my local spot wich is a mix of shallow and deep water with sand bank...
I'm so sad because I work 3 month as student to buy this board... Marketing wistel and Bell catch my attention and now I'm just fucked with à board that will not last... I Hope that slingshot will make something...
Does the asylum had the same issue ?

Well if it's any help I could sell you a new Axis Tranq for 500 bucks that I have lying around (which I personally guarantee not to break). Or I can sell you a secondhand one for 250, that I also will guarantee... Maybe it's no help but the offer is there if you need it.

Hope you can get something sorted out though. I love Slingshot, but things like this should never be an issue for a board designed for boots... I mean seriously, come on.

According to the rep and a mate of mine who bought the original misfit and Darko they all have really poor construction. There performance is good though no doubt about that.

I feel bad for you mate I'm a broke ass part time kitesurfing instructor I understand what it's like to be screwed over. Onhestly slingshot will tell you it's common wear and tear and it's not there problem. If I were you I'd just ride the board may as well get the most out of it. Hopefully it's just cosmetic. Rub candle wax on the base make it more slippery and friction free. Have never done it myself but apparently it works

That sucks man. Only a bit of beach riding, heck my pop looked just as bad after a day riding pebbles and rocks.
As a side Note, do the slingshot riders complain at all?

you've deffo hit more than just beach looking at those scratches.

a dealer will laugh at you if you say thats from hitting sand and water. if your board was made of butter that wouldnt happen

I believe him. You only have to watch Distinction to see that the base on those boards is crap.

I was told by a slingshot rider that, at the photoshoot, after 10 minutes of riding in and out, coming onto the beach just 10 meters a few times, the board already was too fucked to take photos of... I have never seen one of these boards in better condition than what he has shown. Strange tho, as it doesnt seem to happen on the asylum.

must be totally different base to my 2 slingy boards.

my asylum has had 8 months of solid use, and i ride up the beach all the time.. not a scratch, and my newton wakeboard has 18months of abuse at the cable and nothing worse than that!
