Hey, guys got any tips?

I had a session today where the wind was all over the place and every time I unhooked my kite it would backstall no matter what the trim was.

Any tips on how to stop this happening?

Thanks.

Does it not backstall when unhooking in steady breeze? Seems strange that it would happen every time when gusty but not happen otherwise.

typically chronic back stall is a result of steering lines that are too short (or flying lines too long). What kite? for years i rode flatter kites and had to pull in the trim strap almost all the way before unhooking.

Try and lengthen your back lines with pigtail knots or add pigtails. Or get a new ride (C shapes excel). Some kites just don't unhook well.
