Have anybody compared the two LF boards with boots on?

I'm really in doubt on what to get for 2012. I'm keeping my 2011 DLX (which I love) and thought about getting the 2012 LFX as a second board or if I like it, as my first choice.

My gut feeling says to get the LFX and try it out. It seems to work great for other wakestylers. The difference between the 2011 and 2012 DLX is tiny, so I can always just use my 2011 in hifger winds and the LFX in lighter winds, if I don't like the LFX better.

The reason I would like to try the LFX is that I believe it is a little faster and has more flex. That should make me do more tricks, when I'm riding just below the sweetspot of the kite. And in chop, because it has a little more speed and flex. And also accelerates better then the DLX. The DLX it perfect for me, when I'm not riding in "angry" chop and I'm well powered. Sadly that doesn't describe most of my sessions, so by doing a comprimise with the board (getting the LFX) I might get more out of my sessions.

What do the scoopers think?

Thanks :)

No, I find skim boring ;) I wonna do wakestyle or stay at home. Except when it's blowing 25-30 knots, then I wonna do loops.

So I just want know if anybody other than the global teamriders from Lf are using LFX as a wakestyle board?

Heard it is a good board, but I think it's ugly as hell :) What did they think of with that buttom graphic?

Don't get me wrong. I love my DLX and when conditions are optimal, I will ride that always. But I need a board with more speed for crap days. Like today.. The wind went from under poweret to perfect wind speed slowly back and fourth all the time. And on top of that, it was gusty. I had a hard time gaining speed to do tricks, when the wind was lower, because the chop ruined my speed.

I convinced that a faster (read not a true wakestyle board) board, will make me dobmore trix in those shitty conditions

It's funny because I remember asking you this question not long ago :p I ended up getting the regular 2012 influence 137 with some cradles and I'm lovin it, pops awesome and is such a smooth ride. It also doesn't have quite as much rocker as the dlx so it rides a lot better in shittier conditions i think. I couldn't ride my friends unless I was powered up but my influence planes just as fast as my strap board. Really sweet smooth ride too, it's pretty sick.

That was my reasoning for picking up the influence, I just like to go kiting even if it's mowing the lawn, and I've also ridden it overpowered as fuck and it's just super easy to ride in all conditions. Our beach is a giant choppy mess too so the flex is nice for smoothing it all out

Have you tried it without fins?

Man you can't go wrong with the normal influence, thats what I ride at my local beach which is most of the time chop destroyed and it works great. The only reason I would get the Lfx is for the grind base, but it's just too flexible for air tricks. The regular influence is softer than the DLX, but stiffer than the LFX.

I've ridden the influence finless and I was impressed how good it rode. For really choppy days though is better to put some fins. I've tried the LF Lymans but I personally use some SS 6" that I adapted and it works great for pop on the chop. In any case, you can ride it finless no prob, it will feel super smooth and you will be able to tail press like crazy.

It does have a noticeable increase of speed when compared with the DLX because of its single to double concave. So there's less drag when you ride and land, which also helps for those marginal days.

Since I want also a grind base board I may get a darkside for my obstacle/flat water board, I wouldnt consider the LFX cause is too flexible for my taste.

Yeah, I'm also worried about the flex in the LFX compared to my first love, the DLX. But the grind base is a nice feature when comparing the normal Influence and the LFX.

I have not concidered the normal Influence actually...

I'm leaning towards getting the LFX 142 now. The extra length may make up for the extra flex when popping.

I've actually never tried riding finless so I can't comment on that, the 1.5" ones that came on my influence feel perfect to me though
