Ok guys so I just had a sick sesh on the GP today settings- everything fully out

Bailed an sbend to blind and my kite inverted.Went back out after fixing my lines and my kite inverted again.

The wind was light but should my kite keep inverting so easily?
Is it possibly the settings , an issue with the GP or just my shit riding [-o<

any tips appreciated yo!!

Any kite will invert if you crash and out run it. That being said I almost never invert my GP.

Are you riding suicide? Are you using a best bar? Other bars with alot of throw tend to invert kites more easily.

it'll be ur tuning is out. wouldnt be able to say what to change without seeing / flying it but def your tuning or youre crashing your kite and out running it... ive never inverted my GP and i ride it loosest back setting, tightest front knot and slackest 5th setting.

I was out yesterday in overpowered 9m conditions (thanks to Beryl) riding our kicker and tried a BS 180. Kite crashed and the deflate valve popped open. I know the kite crashed pretty hard but, thought that it should have taken it.

Anyone had trouble with that?

If you crashed your kite THAT HARD I'd just be stoked it was the deflate valve and not the LE! As technical as they are, we're talking about a stitched together piece of fabric being pumped up to 1/3 the pressure of a car tire and then being slammed at 30mph+ into an immovable object (the ocean).

Agreed. Just wondered if anyone else had an issue.

Just got a 2012 bar (had a prototype 2012 that looked like a 2011).

The kite is way over sheeted and it was suggested I add a few knots in the 5th line. Anyone else have to do that? I added 2 more knots above the 2 that were in the 5th.

when I first put the kite up with the new bar unhooking was awful. Had to basically pull out all the depower to keep it from back stalling.

This was on the 9, I haven't had a chance to put up the 11 yet and see if it needs the same.

If your kite is truly over sheeting, that means your rear lines are too short, so adding knots in the fifth line won't really do anything. If you have tons of fifth line tension, then you might need to add an extension. Did you get the bar new? If it's new, the lines shouldn't need to have any changes, in fact it's probably a warranty issue.

Just tune your bar and make sure that all your lines are the same length. If you didn't get it new, you need to do what it takes to make all the lines equal in length. I have done some crazy mods to my bar to make them all the same because I was stuck with this proto bar. If you got it new, this shouldnt happen and you should call us up at BEST. If you didn't get it new I can walk you through how to get your lines right.

The kite is freaking sick, and I have only had a bad session on it when I saw that my fifth line was about 4 inches shorter than my other lines.

I don't even know why it didn't occur to me to check the line lengths. I should have done that first. Unfortunately I bought it from the preowned gear from best. It was a demo bar and I'm guessing its something screwy with the lines because when I pulled the bar out the first time it had a ton of depower pulled too. Going to stretch them out and see.

I stretched them out and they are all wack. back lines 6" longer than the flying lines and the 5th is about 18" shorter than the back lines. Going to send it back to best with hopes they can tweak it or I guess I'll end up replacing all the flying lines.

Thanks slaybo, I was going to ship it back to best but, figured I'd just see if I had enough extra pigtails to get the lines even. I ended up having to add two 8" ones to the 5th and one to each inside line. Crazy.
