Cool. Video embed worked for me. Does everyone else see the video embedded in the post above?

Great. Here is how its done. enter the following in a post:

Code:
[youtube]URL[/youtube]

Where URL is the url of the video.

I suggest always using the url that youtube provides to the right of its videos, just above "embed" and not the url you see in your browsers address bar. The one in your address bar sometimes has a little extra bit of code at the end that I am not yet sure how this embedding thing will react to it. The one that youtube provides in the url box to the right is always clean and should always work.

I encourage you guys to give it a go and report any problems. Especially if you use youtube in any other language besides English as I am curious to see if localized url's create any problems.

I will set up embedding bbcodes for vimeo as well later on. Maybe tomorrow or so. Any other video sites you guys want to be able to embed from?

Vimeo seems to be working. Here is how its done:

Code:
[vimeo]URL[/vimeo]

Where URL is the url of the video. The url in your browsers address bar should work. It should look like this and nothing more:

http://www.vimeo.com/6989067

This is embed code Facebook provides for videos... but don't seem to work
Do you need to prefix it with anything?

<object width="400" height="300" ><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.facebook.com/v/1223156691991" /><embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/1223156691991" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="300"></embed></object>

Ok sorry for taking so long to get back to you CKB. Haven't been able to get on the scoop in a while.

Anyways, I have set up facebook embedding. To do it, look in that same embed code for the url that looks like this http://www.facebook.com/v/1223156691991 and place it between [facebook] tags. So the end result is like this:

Code:
[facebook]http://www.facebook.com/v/1223156691991[/facebook]

OK THX jordan, it works fine once you login.
Incidently the above 2min vid is a competition entry for Antigua & Barbuda Tourism...
"Why I love Antigua & Barbuda "

Look out for the quick flash of "The Scoop" logo at 1:00 with the Jabba crew taken a few years ago.
