We are thinking about extending our current corrugated tube or just getting a longer one for kiting and winching. We have used it before no problem, but since we are thinking about investing in it we are wondering whether we would be better off making an actual slider. We prefer the corrugated tube since is fun and portable, our only concern is catching an edge.

Nose presses are out of the question, but what about spinning? I know spins are doable but what's the likelihood of catching an edge?

I dont see why you would catch on a nosepress. You can catch on any jib, corrugateds are legit.

I've eaten shit every way possible on the corrugated tube we used in Hatteras two years ago (pictured above in the KiteScoop header)... but NEVER due to catching an edge.

On a side note, they will bruise your ass like none other if you get dragged across it!

That was also my main concern, since they are not smooth when you fall on them you won't slide like on regular sliders.

Thanks guys, we will just keep the section of corrugated tube that we have and make a 20' long fun box.

get a regular pvc tube thats not corrugated. they are super fun, almost no consequence. easy to get a hold off too, you just snatch one from a random construction site nearby.

Haha if you eat shit on any slider its going to hurt about the same. I promise the ripples on the corrugated arent going to hurt anymore than falling on a regular PVC tube. lol

^I wish that was true! The PVC pole jam we built in the slick this past year couldn't bite you if you tried... the corrugated tube would leave a rippled bruise across your ass if a press slipped out from underneath. One you could ride out on your ass and the other would leave you walking like a prison inmate for a week!

agree to disagree i guess, i cant remember the last time I fell on my ass on a 20' slider anyways but I guess it could happen to someone.

Not quite man. It depends if your body ends up sliding on top of it for a bit.

Watch minute 1:10 and 2:06, wouldn't be the same on a corrugated tube

http://vimeo.com/20233508

Anyways both are fun.

got me many times yesterday on snowboard... got up and went it again.. nothing to do :)

Best part is to ass-slide it.. it makes you feel like your asshole radius is 10cm bigger after it. But it's just pain.. it goes away

I even made two "accidental" frontflips from cannon with corrugated tube.. so it might "help" you some times :P

A shot from yesterday.. thats two pipes after each other ~10m total
