So I've landed a pretty nice job in my year off from studies, and I'm going to make enough money to take some months off and just do whatever I want. What I think I might do is travel to somewhere with steady wind, flat water and/or waves and just chill and kite. I will work until january, so I'm planning on leaving then and staying for 5 months or until i run out of money.

The question is though, where should i go? Where is it windy season in the winter months? Right now it also looks like i will be travelling alone, so it would be nice being somewhere where people are chill and easy to get in touch with. Other things like living costs and such is also an important factor so i can stay for as long as possible.

Anybody have suggestions? I'm pretty much open to go wherever in the world, as long as its warm and windy.

Thai wake park looks sick, but i would get bored of wakeboarding every day in the same cable park.

It would be really sick if there was any good kiting close by though.

Not really the most consistent, but our windy season is in the fall/winter and starts to taper off in the spring down here in Florida. As long as you stay north of miami the people are pretty chill, jupiter area is mad lax and is windy 3+days a week during a good season (ie not this one)

Florida definetely is a good option for the cable/kite mix. But to be honest, I've already been there and didn't like it a lot. I was probably with the wrong crowd though.

Brazil is also a sick place, but I thought it was rain season down there in the winter/spring. I don't really know what that means, how much can you expect it to rain in those months? And what does that mean for the wind?

What about the carribean islands? From what I've heard wind season is in the months is in the winter. I've already been in the carribean once, and I loved the vibe. Definetly a good place to be doing nothing. Antigua maybe? It looks like a sick place with a wakestyle oriented kite scene. If any of the antiguan locals is reading this, maybe you could give me some info on living costs and such?

I agree, you would go nuts if you had to spend 5 months in Boracay. I was there for 7 weeks this winter which was more than enough. But the Phillippines in general is not a bad option imo. There are more than 7000 islands for you to explore, so you´re not forced to stay in Boracay just because you go to the Phillippines.
